Arkansas is the third of the six Outer States of the Amtrak Federation. It was incorporated in AD 2653 with the completion of the divisional base at Lincoln Field/Little Rock.

Arkansas is a reasonably fertile state, consisting of prairie in the south-east and forested mountains elsewhere in the state. It is divided in two by the Arkansas River, which empties into the Mississippi River, which forms the state's eastern boundary. Arkansas is notable for being, as in Pre-H times, the only natural source of diamonds in the Federation.
